Lamine Yamal rewrites history and continues breaking records

At 19, Yamal has finished in the Ballon d'Or top three for three consecutive years, won a World Cup and Euros, and Barcelona president Laporta believes he can one day win the award.

Lamine Yamal has rewritten the record books at just 19 years old. The Barcelona winger has already achieved what many players dream of throughout their careers: a World Cup, a Euros title, three La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups.

Yamal has become the first player to finish in the Ballon d'Or top ten for three consecutive years before turning 20. In 2024, at 17, he finished eighth after a breakthrough season with Barcelona and a starring role in Spain's Euro 2024 triumph. In 2025, at 18, he came second behind Ousmane Dembélé, confirming he was no longer just a prospect but an established elite player. In 2026, at 19, he finished third behind Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has publicly expressed his confidence that Yamal will one day win the Ballon d'Or. His trajectory defies expectations, and his ceiling remains unknown.
