We'll be a very strong team and fight for big things

Atlético Madrid extended their winning streak to six consecutive La Liga victories and closed the gap on Barcelona after their draw with Real Madrid.

Atlético Madrid capitalised on a favourable weekend in La Liga, beating Deportivo de La Coruña while Barcelona and Real Madrid drew in El Clásico. The result allowed Diego Simeone's side to cut points on the leaders ahead of a direct clash with Barcelona in two weeks.

Giuliano Simeone, who featured in Saturday's win, praised the team's current form and confidence. "We're going to be a very strong team and we'll fight for big things if we keep working this way across all lines," the Argentine said after the match. He acknowledged the team had struggled in the first half and late in the second but emphasised the importance of the three points and the need to correct errors moving forward.
