Bernardeschi, 2029 target: Bologna studying new contract

Bologna exploring new deal to extend Bernardeschi through 2029 with one-year option; talks underway with player's camp.

Federico Bernardeschi and Bologna are in discussions over a contract extension that would keep the winger at the club through June 2029. The proposal involves a new one-year deal with an additional option through 2029, building on Bologna's existing right to extend his current contract by one year.

Bernardeschi has become a key player for Bologna after arriving as a backup option, impressing with his work rate and creativity both in and out of possession. His recent performance against Cagliari—where he won and converted a penalty while creating chances and tracking back—exemplifies his value to the side. The club and player's representatives have been working on the financial details for about a month, with both sides keen to continue their relationship.

The 31-year-old has settled well at Bologna after his time at Juventus and his Euro 2020 triumph with Italy, and has made clear his contentment with the club. Bologna are keen to reward his professionalism and impact, particularly given how seamlessly he has integrated into the squad.
