Sources: West Ham make preliminary move for Rob Edwards as he rejects Burnley approach

West Ham have made preliminary contact with Rob Edwards after he rejected Burnley's managerial approach, as pressure mounts on Nuno Espirito Santo.

West Ham United have made preliminary contact with Rob Edwards as the 43-year-old rejected an approach to become Burnley's next manager. Edwards has been out of work since being sacked by Wolves in the summer.

The move comes as Nuno Espirito Santo faces growing pressure at West Ham following inconsistent results, including a 3-2 home loss to Southampton on 24 October. The club hierarchy have made instant promotion back to the Premier League their minimum requirement this season.

Edwards is also a contender for the Crystal Palace job following Pierre Sage's struggles, and has been linked with Birmingham City. West Ham will need to move quickly if they want to secure him, with multiple clubs seeking managerial changes.
