Jon Martín: "The derby atmosphere motivates me, I'm very keen"

Real Sociedad defender Jon Martín says the derby atmosphere motivates him ahead of Sunday's clash at Athletic Club.

Real Sociedad defender Jon Martín spoke to the press ahead of Sunday's Basque derby at Athletic Club, expressing his excitement for the fixture. "The derby environment motivates me, I'm very keen," he said. "We want to win everything, both here and there. They have a strong and beautiful fanbase at home, but we're focused on going to San Mamés to play our game and try to bring back the three points."

Martín praised his team's recent form and attacking style of play. "It's the identity of this team. We're a brave team. We like to press hard. We're more exposed at the back, but it's our game," he explained. He also complimented his defensive partner Sarr, saying he is "a calm guy and a good person" who is learning Spanish.

The young centre-back emphasized his gratitude for every minute he plays and acknowledged the competitive nature of football. "I'm very young and I have to keep working and winning," he said. "I'm grateful for every minute I play. Football is complicated and everything can change."
