Ramos: "I wanted to leave PSG in January. Amorim told me we'd do great things at Milan"

Ramos explains he wanted to leave PSG in January but the club refused; Amorim convinced him Milan was the right move during the World Cup.

Gonçalo Ramos has given an interview to Portuguese broadcaster Canal 11 discussing his departure from PSG and move to Milan. The forward revealed he wanted to leave Paris as early as January but the club blocked the transfer, forcing him to wait until summer. When Milan manager Ruben Amorim called during the World Cup, Ramos said the manager told him they would achieve great things together at the San Siro.

Ramos explained his frustration at PSG, where he struggled to find consistency despite his quality. "In my last three years at PSG, I don't think I ever played four or five matches in a row as a starter," he said. "There's no continuity. Sometimes it was frustrating and made me angry. I even scored in four or five consecutive matches without starting once. It made no sense to me." PSG sporting director Jorge Campos promised him a summer exit, which eventually materialised.

At Milan, Ramos has found the playing time and role he craved. "I play more, in a club that offers me more space to express myself," he said. "My life is happy, I live in a serene atmosphere." The Portuguese forward has scored three goals in eight appearances across all competitions since his €74 million arrival and has become a regular starter under Amorim in Serie A.
