Leeds interest goes back to last season – January transfer looking likely

Leeds have tracked Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi since last season and can negotiate a pre-contract deal from January when his contract expires.

Leeds United's interest in Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi dates back to the 2024/25 season, with the club having scouted him on multiple occasions, including during Porto's Champions League match against PSV. The 29-year-old's contract expires next summer, allowing him to enter pre-contract negotiations from January.

English reports suggest Leeds could secure Sanusi for €2–3 million in the January window. However, Porto manager Francesco Farioli wants to keep the player and has conveyed that to the board. Porto are also in discussions with Sanusi about a contract extension, though the two parties have not yet reached an agreement. With no renewal imminent and his deal running down, the January transfer window appears the likely time for Leeds to make a concrete move.
