Leeds hope to seal 'cut-price' Zaidu Sanusi deal in January

Leeds hope to sign Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi on a cut-price deal in January, with his contract expiring in summer.

Leeds United are targeting Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi for a January move, according to sources. The 29-year-old Nigerian international's contract with Porto expires at the end of the season, creating an opportunity for Leeds to negotiate a reduced fee rather than wait until summer. Sanusi has been a long-term target for the Whites, with the club considering moves for him in each of the last two transfer windows. He has made five league starts for Porto this season after limited appearances last term. Leeds believe a straightforward deal is likely if Porto do not offer Sanusi a new contract in the coming months. The defender brings significant European experience with 29 Champions League appearances and would provide additional competition for Gabriel Gudmundsson at left-back.
