Evann Guessand and 36% flop among three Crystal Palace players who should be axed vs Tottenham

Crystal Palace face Tottenham on Saturday with manager Pierre Sage under pressure; three underperformers from the Fulham win should be dropped.

Crystal Palace progressed past Fulham in the Carabao Cup thanks to Eddie Nketiah's goal, but manager Pierre Sage remains under scrutiny with the club sitting just one point above the relegation zone after eight Premier League games. The Eagles face a crucial fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park on Saturday, 31 October, with Sage needing a positive result to ease pressure on his position.

Football Insider has identified three players who underperformed in midweek and should be dropped for the Spurs clash. Evann Guessand completed just 36 per cent of his passes in 77 minutes against Fulham, with only 25 touches, and won just 44 per cent of his ground duels while committing four fouls. Ben Chilwell's involvement was a surprise, completing 57 per cent of his seven passes with no chances created and being dribbled past once. Cheikh Doucoure struggled in his hour on the pitch, losing 100 per cent of his ground duels and 50 per cent of aerial duels while making no tackles in 61 minutes.

The analysis suggests Yeremi Pino, Ismaila Sarr and Dwight McNeil are better options to replace Guessand, Tyrick Mitchell should retain the left-wing-back spot ahead of Chilwell, and Adam Wharton should continue in midfield, potentially alongside Daichi Kamada.
