Rashford, Mainoo, Shaw - Manchester United injury news and return dates vs Chelsea

Mainoo returns to training ahead of Chelsea; Rashford (hip) and Shaw (unspecified) remain sidelined; Sesko out for extended period.

Manchester United face Chelsea this afternoon with several injury concerns ahead of the fixture. Manager Michael Carrick confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Kobbie Mainoo has returned to training and is back in the squad after his absence, offering a boost to the side's options.

However, United continue to deal with multiple injury issues. Marcus Rashford has been sidelined with a hip problem since missing the Como match, with no update provided on his availability. Luke Shaw is expected to remain out longer than Mainoo and is unlikely to feature today. Ben Sesko has been ruled out for an extended period after Carrick confirmed the forward will miss significant time, though the exact duration remains unclear as the club works through a healing process with the injury.

On a positive note, Lisandro Martinez and Ayden Heaven have returned to availability after featuring in the recent defeat to Bournemouth. United enter the match winless in eight games and looking to turn around their poor run of form.
