Behind the scenes at Bologna: what happened in Palladino and Dovbyk meeting before Monza

Palladino warned his Bologna squad not to lose focus after beating Milan, emphasizing the need to maintain intensity against Monza.

Raffaele Palladino has made clear to his Bologna players that there is no room for complacency following their victory at Milan. The coach stressed that while winning at San Siro brings enthusiasm and confidence, the team must avoid the trap of overestimating themselves. "If we lower our level, we become losers, but we cannot be that," Palladino said. "We must approach every match as if it were the last."

Ahead of the Monza fixture, Palladino acknowledged the club's significance in his career—describing it as a "fundamental stage" early on—but made clear nostalgia has no place in his preparation. He praised Monza as an organized, courageous side well-coached by a friend, and emphasized the importance of reading the game tactically: knowing when to press high and when to defend deeper, an area where Bologna showed improvement in their Milan win.
