Cardinale: "I want to bring Milan back to the top. Amorim is my manager. Krösche..."

Cardinale confirmed Amorim as his manager and promised an announcement on Krösche "very soon" ahead of the Milan-Inter derby.

Milan owner Gerry Cardinale spoke to Sky Sport before the derby, reaffirming his ambition to restore the club to the top of Italian and European football. On manager Amorim, appointed last summer, Cardinale said: "He is my manager and we have great feeling. He is doing tremendous work with the squad and the players. He is truly a coach, a manager. He is developing the players and that is what I want. That is why I am happy with the choice I made."

On the January transfer window, Cardinale pledged continued activity: "We want to be active. I will be here for a long time and I want, and will always want, to be active in every transfer window, trying to exploit all the opportunities that will come. When I took ownership of this club in June 2022, my objective was to bring it back to the top of Italian and European football. We are doing our best and there will be an announcement very soon." He was widely understood to be referring to sporting director Krösche, whose arrival has been anticipated.
