Gasperini: "Valuable match. I don't remember such an intense period"

Roma thrashed Udinese 5-2 to stay unbeaten in Serie A; Gasperini praised the team's quality but acknowledged fatigue from eight matches in under three weeks.

Roma secured a commanding 5-2 victory over Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium to maintain their unbeaten Serie A record. Manager Gian Piero Gasperini highlighted the quality of the performance in his post-match press conference, saying: "We played a valuable match, this is a group that has hunger and wants to improve itself."

Gasperini acknowledged the physical toll of Roma's congested fixture schedule, noting it was the team's eighth match in less than twenty days. "I don't remember a period this long," he told DAZN, comparing it to his time at Atalanta during their Europa League-winning campaign in March-April. He expressed concern about the second goal conceded but emphasized the overall quality displayed.

On the injury front, Gasperini indicated that recovering Svilar, Dybala and Koné before the international break would be "very difficult," though he expressed hope. "This week will be the decisive one," he said. He also praised defender Ghilardi, who scored the final goal, for his physical and mental development since arriving last season.
