Cristiano Ronaldo Júnior called up to Portugal U17

The 16-year-old winger, who plays for Al Nassr's youth setup, has been called up for Portugal's U17 Euro qualifiers against Andorra, Bulgaria and Serbia this month.

Cristiano Ronaldo Júnior has been named in Portugal's 23-player squad for upcoming UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifiers. The 16-year-old winger, known as 'Cristianinho', will face Andorra (11 November), Bulgaria (14 November) and Serbia (17 November) in home fixtures.

Ronaldo Júnior plays in Al Nassr's youth categories and has progressed through Portugal's youth system with notable success. He scored twice in the U15 final as his team won the tournament, and claimed two more titles at U16 level with three goals in nine appearances. This will be his first call-up to the U17 squad.

The announcement comes as his father, 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, awaits news of his own inclusion in Portugal's senior squad, to be announced on Friday. Cristiano recently completed a 30-day suspension and fine following a disagreement with manager Jorge Jesus over playing time in the last senior camp.
