A signing for Arteta and Zidane

Saliba returned to Arsenal training after nearly four months out with a back injury sustained at the World Cup.

William Saliba has returned to Arsenal training after almost four months sidelined by a back injury. The defender picked up the problem during the World Cup, where he managed the issue throughout the tournament before being substituted in the 30th minute of France's semifinal against Spain. He missed the third-place playoff against England.

Saliba travelled with Arsenal to Prague on Tuesday ahead of their Champions League fixture against Slavia Praga on Wednesday. His return is a significant boost for manager Mikel Arteta and France coach Zinedine Zidane. Arsenal have coped well in his absence, signing English defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa in the summer, but Saliba remains a cornerstone of the side after playing a key role in last season's Premier League title challenge.
