Arteta backs Saliba's readiness to return for Arsenal at Slavia Prague

Saliba travelled with Arsenal to face Slavia Prague after completing 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors match; Arteta confident he is ready to return.

William Saliba has travelled with Arsenal's squad to Prague for the Europa League tie against Slavia Prague after recovering from a back injury sustained at the World Cup. The France defender started individual training last month and has since resumed full training, playing 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors match last week.

Arteta expressed confidence in Saliba's readiness, noting that extensive preparation has been done to manage his workload and minimise injury risk. The manager acknowledged that centre-backs typically need to play full 90-minute matches, which is why the rehabilitation process has been carefully structured. However, Arteta faces a selection dilemma with Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Magalhães having impressed in Arsenal's recent victory over Liverpool, meaning Saliba's return to the starting XI is not guaranteed despite his availability.
