Parkinson eyes Wrexham response after honest talks

Parkinson held team talks after Friday's 1-0 loss at Sheffield United; Wrexham host Middlesbrough and Wolves this week.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has held honest discussions with his squad following their lacklustre 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United on Friday. The side failed to register a shot on target until added time, prompting Parkinson to emphasise the need for accountability and self-analysis.

Parkinson said the team watched the full match together as a group to identify what went wrong. "I think it's important we did that because we can talk about accountability and what we did and what we needed to do," he explained. He added that the training ground work has been productive and stressed the importance of the week ahead.

Wrexham, currently 18th in the Championship, face leaders Middlesbrough at home on Wednesday before hosting Wolves. They come into the fixtures on the back of successive away defeats but beat Preston 4-1 in their last home game. Parkinson called on supporters to create an atmosphere at the Racecourse and urged his players to show the spark, effort and intensity required to turn their form around.
