Oufkir called up to Morocco squad

AZ winger Oufkir, who recently played three matches for Netherlands U21, has switched to Morocco's senior squad for Africa Cup qualifiers against Niger.

Ayoub Oufkir, a 20-year-old winger born in Rotterdam and currently at AZ, has been called up to Morocco's senior squad for upcoming Africa Cup qualifiers. Oufkir recently represented the Netherlands at youth level, including winning the U19 European Championship in 2025 and making his Netherlands U21 debut in October under coach Michael Reiziger, where he started all three matches and scored against Slovenia. Morocco will face Niger on 13 November at home and again four days later in the qualification campaign. The call-up means Oufkir will miss Netherlands U21's crucial Euro qualifier double-header against Denmark, which determines whether the Dutch can compete at next summer's European Championship in Albania and Serbia.
