Jurgen Klopp expected to make Niclas Fullkrug player statement amid 'extraordinary' claim

Klopp set to recall Werder Bremen loanee Fullkrug to Germany squad after scoring 12 goals in 10 games this season.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to include Niclas Fullkrug in his Germany squad announcement on Thursday morning, barring any last-minute developments. The 33-year-old forward, currently on loan at Werder Bremen, has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence after struggling during his time at West Ham and AC Milan. Fullkrug has scored 12 goals in 10 games across all competitions for Bremen this season and is currently the Bundesliga's top scorer, ahead of Michael Olise, Harry Kane and Luis Diaz. Klopp's decision to recall him comes as the Germany manager looks to move away from the experimental approach of his first squad selection, which yielded one win, two draws and one loss. The squad will be named Thursday at approximately 11:30 am for Germany's final two international matches of the year.
