Former Netherlands U21 international Reis called up for Slovakia

The Werder Bremen midfielder, capped 17 times by Netherlands U21s, switches international allegiance to Slovakia for Nations League matches.

Ludovit Reis has been called up to Slovakia's national team for Nations League fixtures against the Faroe Islands and Kazakhstan, marking a switch in international allegiance. The 26-year-old midfielder represented the Netherlands U21s 17 times between 2019 and 2023, making his debut at 18, but never progressed to the senior side. Slovakia, Reis's country of origin, has now opened the door for his A-team debut. Reis joined Werder Bremen this summer after a spell at Club Brugge, returning to Germany where he previously played for Hamburg. His career has also included stints at Barcelona B, Osnabrück, and Groningen.
