Mou: "The little penalty in Santander? There were decisions in other matches that affected the result"

Mourinho downplayed the controversial penalty awarded to Mbappé against Racing, saying it had no bearing on the result as his team dominated.

After Roma's victory over AEK Athens, Mourinho was asked about the disputed penalty awarded to Mbappé in Real Madrid's recent win over Racing Santander, which the CTA later confirmed was an error by both the referee and VAR.

Mourinho defended the decision's impact, arguing that Madrid would have won by three, four or five goals regardless. He characterised it as a "little penalty" and suggested the referee likely called it thinking it was a clear foul based on the scale of the contact.

He drew a distinction between this incident and other decisions in the league that genuinely affected match outcomes, saying the Santander penalty had "zero impact" on the result because Roma dominated the second half and could have scored more if needed.
