Manager says Newcastle United or Everton jobs would be great – More realistic than Manchester United

Hull City manager Jakirović says Newcastle or Everton would be realistic next steps, but Manchester United is beyond his current level.

Hull City manager Sergej Jakirović has outlined his ambitions in an interview with Sportske Novosti, saying that while a move to Manchester United would be a dream, it is not realistic from his current position.

When asked what he would do if Manchester United called, Jakirović explained: "The boss would be proud, but that's not realistic. From Hull you can only go to the middle tier. I think that's my next level. Clubs that are below the top six. To be a coach at the very top, you have to have a pedigree."

When Newcastle United and Everton were mentioned as possibilities, he responded: "That would be great." The 49-year-old, who joined Hull in June 2025 and secured their Premier League promotion in his first season, also confirmed he has a seven-figure release clause in his contract with owner Acun Ilıcalı.
