Everton player is loving life – Glad to hear fans singing his song

Mykolenko praised Everton's recent form and hopes to push for European qualification after beating Newcastle twice in four days.

Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko expressed optimism about the club's prospects after a 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday, their third victory of the season. The result moved David Moyes' side to seventh in the Premier League, just three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Mykolenko told Tribuna he hopes Everton will "fight for a spot in European competitions right until the very end" after a difficult summer transfer window. He highlighted the significance of beating Newcastle twice in four days—the Toffees also defeated them in the Carabao Cup on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals against Fleetwood.

The Ukrainian left-back delivered a standout performance at St James Park and was delighted when fans sang his song during the match. "I can't even remember the last time I heard that song. But I heard it today, and it's really nice," he said. Mykolenko credited the team spirit and atmosphere for their recent success, emphasizing that as a defender, winning and keeping clean sheets remain his priorities.
