West Brom and Derby County product Archie Brown is the real deal, he should get England call-up

Fenerbahce left-back Archie Brown, a former West Brom and Derby County academy product, is performing at elite level in the Champions League and should receive his first senior England call-up.

Archie Brown, 24, has emerged as one of Europe's best left-backs this season at Fenerbahce, impressing in the Champions League with five goal contributions in 16 appearances. The former West Brom and Derby County youth player ranks in the 76th–84th percentile among Champions League full-backs for key metrics including expected assists, successful dribbles, duels won and big chances created. Brown recently scored and assisted against Liverpool, demonstrating his ability against elite opposition.

Thomas Tuchel, who names his England squad on 6 November for Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain, should consider Brown's inclusion. The left-back has two England under-20 caps and has spent his entire senior career overseas, with spells at Lausanne and Gent before joining Fenerbahce in 2025. With none of Tuchel's current left-back options performing to a particularly high standard, Brown represents a shrewd addition. Liverpool are among the clubs believed to be monitoring his services ahead of next year's transfer window.
