AZ Alkmaar-Juventus, Spalletti: "Satisfied but we should have scored a third"

Spalletti praised Juventus's aggressive display in their Europa League win at AZ Alkmaar but felt they should have added a third goal to seal it more comfortably.

Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti was pleased with his side's performance in their Europa League victory at AZ Alkmaar, highlighting their intensity and pressing in the first half. "We played a great match with the right attitude and mentality, going after them in their half," Spalletti said. "It's clear you take some risks doing that, but I'm happy with all my players, including those on the bench."

Spalletti acknowledged AZ's quality as opponents and felt Juventus could have been more clinical. "We should have scored a third goal given how we controlled the game," he explained. "We dropped deeper towards the end and conceded a goal we shouldn't have—indecision is worse than a wrong decision." He praised individual performances, singling out Koopmeiners and the defensive work of Lucumì and Kalulu, while noting that substitutes like Boga and Ekhator could have done more damage on the counter-attack.
