Premier League title winner with Chelsea tipped to succeed Alonso as manager

Cesc Fabregas, currently managing Serie A side Como, is being tipped as a potential successor to Xabi Alonso at Chelsea.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is attracting attention as a possible future Chelsea manager, according to England women's striker Lianne Sanderson. Fabregas has impressed in his role at Italian club Como, where the team sits just two points off the top of Serie A and has lost only once this season. Como also secured a dominant 9-1 victory over Lens in the Champions League on Wednesday. Sanderson told talkSPORT that Fabregas could eventually replace Xabi Alonso at Stamford Bridge, though Alonso only took the Chelsea job this summer on a four-year contract. Italian journalist Daniele Fisichella suggested Fabregas is likely to move to a bigger club next summer, noting that the manager has developed a strong tactical philosophy while remaining pragmatic in his approach. Fabregas, who won two Premier League titles and five trophies during his playing career at Chelsea, has been building his managerial reputation at Como since 2022.
