'Unbelievable' Rangers star earns Man Utd rave review as Old Trafford title winner blown away

Former Manchester United player Quinton Fortune praised South African defender Olwethu Makhanya's £3m summer move to Rangers from Philadelphia Union.

Olwethu Makhanya has made a strong start at Rangers following his £3m transfer from MLS side Philadelphia Union, earning praise from former Manchester United and Atletico Madrid star Quinton Fortune.

Fortune, a South African compatriot of Makhanya, believes the move represents a significant step up in the defender's career. "It is unbelievable that he is able to play for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership," Fortune said. "The MLS, with all due respect, is a great league, but European football is just a bigger stage."

Makhanya has already featured in an Old Firm match since joining Rangers, an experience Fortune highlighted as invaluable for his development. Fortune suggested the move will help elevate South African football as a whole.
