There was total silence in training

Castro says last season's win at Celta won't help this Sunday; acknowledges the squad was deeply affected by Jesús de Miguel's death during the week.

Levante manager Luís Castro held his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday's trip to Balaídos to face Celta. While he acknowledged that last season's victory in Vigo was important for the club's survival push, Castro stressed it carries no points into this weekend's fixture.

Castro praised Celta as a strong side that has improved at home this season, but expressed confidence Levante can repeat last year's result. Despite two consecutive defeats and no away wins yet this season, the Portuguese manager said his players have fought for results in every match except the opening game against Espanyol.

Castro also addressed the impact of Jesús de Miguel's death on the squad. He said the week's training sessions were unusually quiet, with players visibly affected by the Tenerife player's passing on Tuesday. He felt either playing or not playing could serve as a fitting tribute, but acknowledged the emotional toll on his group.
