'Curtains for Robinson' or can floundering Aberdeen boss survive?

Aberdeen lost 4-0 at home to bottom-placed Hibernian, with Robinson's job now in serious jeopardy after winning just six of 21 league games.

Stephen Robinson's Aberdeen tenure appears to be on the brink after a humiliating 4-0 home defeat to fellow strugglers Hibernian. The Pittodrie manager had labelled the match as a must-win, but his side capitulated, particularly in the second half, with home fans chanting "You're getting sacked in the morning" as they left early.

Robinson, appointed in March, has won just six of 21 league games and lost 11. Aberdeen now sit in the relegation play-off place, above only Kilmarnock, after a fourth Scottish Premiership defeat in five. The manager vowed to "keep fighting until told otherwise" post-match, but former Celtic striker Chris Sutton suggested he should "do the honourable thing and walk away", while Aberdeen legend Willie Miller described him as "a man lost" and questioned how he would cope with the fallout.

Chief executive Adrian Bevington, appointed in September, faces a major decision this weekend. Robinson's summer recruitment of 15 players has largely failed to make an impact, with Miller criticising the quality of signings. Should Aberdeen sack Robinson, it would be their sixth managerial change since Derek McInnes departed in 2021.
