"A lead worth pursuing" – Journalist insists Liverpool star is attainable, despite potentially huge European competition

Van Dijk's Liverpool contract expires next summer; Real Madrid and AC Milan are monitoring the Dutch defender as a potential free transfer.

Virgil van Dijk's contract at Liverpool runs until next summer, making him a potential free agent and attracting interest from top European clubs including Real Madrid and AC Milan. Journalist Carlo Pellegatti believes Milan should pursue the 35-year-old defender, arguing that despite his age, he remains among Europe's elite defenders and would be a significant signing both on and off the pitch. Pellegatti stressed that Milan must secure Champions League football to have a realistic chance of convincing Van Dijk, particularly given competition from Real Madrid.
