Nico González moves further away from Simeone
Summarised by MatchPal
Juventus officially extended Nico González's contract through June 2030, ending Atlético Madrid's hopes of signing the Argentine winger after his loan spell.
Juventus confirmed on Friday the contract extension of Nico González, tying the 28-year-old Argentine winger to the club until June 2030. González spent last season on loan at Atlético Madrid, where Diego Simeone wanted to sign him permanently, but Atlético declined to exercise the purchase option due to the high cost. The new deal includes a significant salary increase and reflects Juventus's confidence in González, who has scored seven goals in 45 appearances since joining in summer 2024 and has already netted twice in five games this season.
