Real Madrid have held talks with Manchester United and formally expressed their intention to sign JJ Gabriel, the 16-year-old attacking midfielder who joined United's academy in 2022. Gabriel, who turned 16 on October 6th and is now eligible to sign his first professional contract, recently told Manchester United he wants to leave. Real Madrid have examined the legality of the move; Gabriel was born in England to an Irish father and Cypriot mother, making him eligible for an EU passport. Bayern Munich have also shown interest in the prospect.
