Sunderland target has head on Black Cats and causes drama

Sunderland target Igor Paixão has struggled since rejecting a summer move, with one goal in six Ligue 1 games and hints he may leave next summer.

Sunderland made concrete attempts to sign Marseille winger Igor Paixão in late August, but the French club blocked the sale. The Brazilian chose to stay, telling Canal+ in September that a January move was unlikely and he'd prefer to leave next summer. However, his form has suffered since: he has failed to score in six league matches with just one assist, completing the full 90 minutes only once. French media have covered his recent comments and the controversy surrounding his situation.
