Javier Aguirre has requested to sit on the right side of the bench at Mestalla, ending a tradition that has defined Valencia's home setup for over a century. The Mexican manager made a similar request during his time at Mallorca. The change will debut this Saturday against Athletic Bilbao in Aguirre's first home match since taking charge. The shift comes in Valencia's final season at Mestalla before moving to the new stadium in summer 2027.
