Rashford decision, Lacey option and Carrick sacking - Manchester United questions answered

Martinez apologised for the timing of his criticism of United officials after the Atletico Madrid loss, but stood by his comments following crisis talks with Carrick.

Lisandro Martinez held emergency talks with Michael Carrick, Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada on Thursday following his public attack on club officials after Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid. The centre-back released a statement apologising for the "time and place" of his comments but not their substance, indicating he maintains his criticism of the club's direction. The incident has left United's dressing room unsettled ahead of the weekend trip to Leeds.
