Chelsea: What games Emi Martinez will miss after injury timeline is 'revealed'
Summarised by MatchPal
Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez faces 45–60 days out after jaw surgery from a collision with Everton's Branthwaite; Mike Penders to deputise.
Emi Martinez suffered a jaw injury in Chelsea's 2–0 win at Everton on Saturday after colliding with centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite in the 66th minute. He was stretchered off and taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery. Reports from Argentina suggest he will be sidelined for 45–60 days, ruling him out of Argentina's fixtures next month and multiple Chelsea Premier League and cup matches. Manager Xabi Alonso will provide a formal update at his next press conference, with second-choice goalkeeper Mike Penders set to start in his absence.
