Aguirre's beginnings: he needs time to get going

Aguirre winless in first two Valencia matches (2-2 draw with Racing, 0-0 with Athletic); Mexican coach has history of slow starts at struggling clubs but typically steadies the ship.

Javier Aguirre has yet to record a victory in his opening two matches as Atlante manager, drawing 2-2 against Racing Santander and 0-0 against Athletic Club. The Mexican coach faces the challenge of lifting the team out of the relegation zone. Aguirre has experience taking over struggling sides mid-season: at Zaragoza he needed six matches for his first win but ultimately secured survival; at Espanyol he required four games before his first victory. His track record suggests patience may be required before results improve.
