Sheff Wed forward Lowe racially abused on social media

Lowe's wife received racist abuse on Instagram after his red card in Tuesday's League One defeat; the club condemned the incident and UK police are investigating.

Sheffield Wednesday forward Jamal Lowe revealed that his wife was sent racist messages on Instagram following his red card in Tuesday's 2-0 League One loss to Notts County. The abuse was posted multiple times on her photos. The club released a statement condemning racism "in the strongest possible terms" and confirmed the UK Policing Football Unit is investigating. This is the second racist incident targeting a Wednesday player this season, following similar abuse directed at an unnamed player in April after a draw with Leicester.
