Michael Carrick reveals conversations with Ferguson and Solskjaer amid Man United struggles

Carrick seeks counsel from Ferguson and Solskjaer as United face potential managerial change after worst league start in 40 years.

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick is under intense pressure following the club's worst start to a league campaign in 40 years, compounded by a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como on Wednesday. The club is reportedly considering managerial alternatives and Carrick faces a crucial match against Bournemouth on Sunday to save his job.

Carrick revealed he is in regular contact with Sir Alex Ferguson, who signed him as a player, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who appointed him as a coach. "I speak to both of them quite regularly, to be honest," Carrick said. "I'm close to both of them and we do have regular conversations."

Ahead of the Bournemouth fixture, Carrick delivered a rallying speech to his team, emphasizing the importance of drawing inspiration from the club's history while taking responsibility for current results. "Teams that win earn the right to win," he said. "It's important that we draw inspiration from the history and the past of what's gone on. But our responsibility is to carry that forward."
