Kovac gives update on Karetsas: "He is in the early stages, walking straight pain-free"

Karetsas will miss more matches than initially expected; Kovac says the Greek defender is only beginning to walk pain-free.

Konstantinos Karetsas's injury layoff will be longer than first thought, Borussia Dortmund manager Niko Kovac revealed ahead of the DFB-Pokal tie against Bremen. The Greek defender was initially ruled out only for the matches against Sabah and Frankfurt, but Kovac's update suggests a more extended absence. The manager confirmed Karetsas is in the early stages of recovery, only now able to walk straight without pain.
