De Zerbi's stance on Ben Davies' Tottenham future revealed

De Zerbi is willing to offer Ben Davies another one-year contract extension at Tottenham, valuing the 33-year-old's leadership and experience in the squad.

Roberto De Zerbi would be open to handing Ben Davies another one-year contract extension at Tottenham, according to sources. The 33-year-old defender, who signed a new deal in June, is approaching the end of his current contract and rarely features in the starting lineup, but De Zerbi values his leadership both on and off the pitch. Davies has scored in each of his competitive appearances this season and has captained Wales for several years, as well as wearing the Spurs armband on multiple occasions. De Zerbi is set to give him more opportunities as the campaign progresses. Davies' own stance on his future remains unclear, though he has expressed his enjoyment of working under the Italian manager.
