García Plaza: "I think the result falls short"

García Plaza felt Sevilla deserved more from the match, praising his side's competitiveness and defensive commitment despite conceding.

former Sevilla manager Luis García Plaza reflected on his team's performance after their latest match, expressing frustration that the result did not reflect their display. "We struggled at the start but once we adjusted, the team played very well," he said. "We had control of the match and I think the result falls short."

García Plaza emphasized Sevilla's competitive standing in the league, noting they have only lost to the three biggest clubs and have scored in every game. He urged patience with the long season ahead, citing Espanyol's example of finishing fifth in December before their final position. "For now we're going to enjoy it and be happy," he added.

On the defensive side, García Plaza acknowledged that clean sheets are difficult given their attacking style of play, but stressed the team's commitment to defensive work. He also expressed his ambition in the Copa del Rey, having come close to reaching the semi-finals twice before.
