Salernitana, managerial change: Serse Cosmi sacked! Picerno defeat decisive

Cosmi sacked after eight months following a 3-0 defeat to Picerno; Salernitana 11th with 14 points from 11 games.

Serse Cosmi's tenure as Salernitana manager has ended following a heavy 3-0 defeat away to Picerno in the eleventh round of Lega Pro. The loss proved decisive, with club president Iervolino opting for a managerial change despite confirming his faith in Cosmi just a week earlier. Cosmi will not take today's training session.

The manager's eight-month spell at the club has been marked by disappointing results. Salernitana sit eleventh in the table with just 14 points from 11 matches, having won 12, drawn 8 and lost 8 under his charge. The Picerno defeat exposed defensive frailties and a concerning lack of attacking threat. The club will announce Cosmi's sacking and name his successor in an official statement.
