Cristiano Ronaldo already back in Portugal selection? Portuguese receives pre-call-up from Jorge Jesus

Ronaldo pre-selected for Portugal's November Nations League matches after serving a 30-day suspension for walking out on the squad.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in Portugal's pre-selection for upcoming Nations League fixtures against Denmark on 14 November and Wales three days later, signalling his return to the squad after a disciplinary row with manager Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo was suspended for 30 days after leaving the national team camp on 30 September, but the ban was retroactive and expires in time for November's matches. The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed the pre-selection on Tuesday, with the final squad to be announced on 6 November.

The 41-year-old apologised to supporters and teammates in a statement on 7 October, accusing Jesus of breaking his word by benching him against Norway and failing to honour an agreement to resolve their conflict at a press conference before Portugal's win over Denmark. Ronaldo left the Copenhagen camp following that press conference. Portugal has already qualified for the quarter-finals in March 2027 and won all four Nations League matches so far, including the last three without their star forward.
