FC Barcelona's young talent dominance: 7 of 10 awards

FC Barcelona has won 7 of 10 Raymond Kopa Trophy awards since 2018, with Lamine Yamal claiming his third title this week.

FC Barcelona's youth development programme has been validated by France Football and the Ballon d'Or, with the club winning seven of the ten Raymond Kopa Trophy awards (renamed the Young Talent of the Year Prize from 2026) given to players under 21 since the award's inception in 2018.

Lamine Yamal, FC Barcelona's current number 10, holds the record with three awards after winning on Monday in London. He follows two teammates in the honour roll: Pedri González won in 2021 and Gavi in 2022. In women's football, FC Barcelona midfielder Vicky López has won both editions of the award since 2025.

The trophy's prestige is underscored by the calibre of its winners and nominees, including Kylian Mbappé (2018), Matthijs de Ligt (2019), and Jude Bellingham (2023), alongside finalists such as João Félix, Jamal Musiala, Désiré Doué, João Neves, Arda Güler, and Pau Cubarsí. The award is decided by a jury composed exclusively of historical Ballon d'Or laureates.
