Jorge Jesus turns page with suspended Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo included in Portugal squad for Nations League matches after serving 30-day suspension for leaving camp over disagreement with Jesus.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in Jorge Jesus's preliminary squad for Portugal's upcoming Nations League fixtures against Denmark (14 November) and Wales (17 November), ending a dispute that saw the 41-year-old leave the previous camp.

Ronaldo was suspended for 30 days and fined €255 by the Portuguese Football Federation after departing the squad on 30 September following a disagreement with Jesus. The sanction expires on 30 October, making him available for the November matches. The row stemmed from Jesus warming up Ronaldo for 30 minutes before the Norway game on 27 September, then not playing him in the 2-1 loss. Ronaldo accused the manager of breaking his word but acknowledged in a statement that he should not have left camp, expressing openness to returning if physically fit.

Portugal, defending Nations League champions, top Group A4 and have already qualified for the next phase.
