Sources: Crystal Palace make progress on Thomas Frank deal

Crystal Palace are in talks to hire Thomas Frank as Pierre Sage's replacement, with discussions progressing though no agreement yet in place.

Crystal Palace are making progress in negotiations to appoint Thomas Frank as manager, sources have told Football Insider. Frank, sacked by Tottenham in February, is a top contender to replace Pierre Sage, who is under intense pressure at Selhurst Park with the Eagles sitting one point above the Premier League relegation zone after eight games.

Discussions are being held among third parties, and although there is no agreement in place yet, a potential deal is increasingly possible. Bournemouth and Fulham are also interested in Frank, but it is understood he is keen on joining Palace instead. A decision on Sage's future is expected after the next international break, giving the manager a window of four upcoming fixtures—against Fulham, Tottenham, Hoffenheim and Liverpool—to prove himself.
