Chinese fans burn Mbappé shirts: "I will never forgive him"

Chinese fans burn Mbappé shirts and call for boycotts after his indirect reference to Mao Zedong regarding online memes about him.

Controversy continues between Kylian Mbappé and China following comments in which he indirectly referenced Mao Zedong while discussing memes circulating about him on social media. Beyond China's government decision to halt Real Madrid broadcasts on state television, videos have emerged of Chinese fans burning Mbappé shirts in protest.

In one video, a fan tramples posters bearing Mbappé's image and states: "I'm very angry about what Mbappé said about China. I'm imposing a deep boycott and will never forgive him." The fan then uses a lighter to set fire to a Mbappé shirt, in this case a France national team jersey rather than a Real Madrid kit.
