Virgil van Dijk and Andoni Iraola lift lid on Ronald Araujo impact at Liverpool - 'I love that'

Van Dijk and Iraola praised Araujo's commitment and work rate since his summer loan arrival from Barcelona, highlighting his impact on fans and the team's recent form.

Ronald Araujo has made an immediate impression at Liverpool since joining on loan from Barcelona in the summer, earning praise from both Virgil van Dijk and manager Andoni Iraola.

Originally signed as centre-back cover, Araujo has been deployed primarily at right-back by Iraola and delivered a standout performance in Sunday's 2-0 win over Brighton, where Liverpool kept a clean sheet to extend their winning run to four games across all competitions. He has also contributed goals in Champions League victories over LASK and Villarreal.

Van Dijk highlighted Araujo's willingness to fight and his aggressive defending, noting how his energy helps the team. Iraola echoed the sentiment, praising the Uruguayan's desire and commitment as part of Liverpool's focus on executing the basics well—something he noted the Anfield crowd responds to enthusiastically.
