Real Sociedad back to work at Zubieta with eyes on the derby

Real Sociedad returned to training Wednesday ahead of Sunday's Basque derby at Athletic Club, with a full squad available except injured pair Beitia and Odriozola.

Real Sociedad resumed training Wednesday afternoon at Zubieta following their win over Levante, with manager Pellegrino Matarazzo giving the squad two and a half days rest. The team benefits from a rare clean week without Europa League commitments, allowing four consecutive days of preparation before Sunday's crucial Basque derby at San Mamés against Athletic Club at 21:00.

The full first-team squad trained normally with no fresh injury concerns. Only Beitia and Álvaro Odriozola remain sidelined, while Matarazzo drafted in academy players goalkeeper Aitor Fraga and forward Alex Marchal to complete the group. Athletic Club, by contrast, have a Copa del Rey fixture this week and will arrive at the derby with less preparation time and greater fatigue.
